Foundation: Effective Sales Culture

At Fairway America, we pride ourselves on providing a sales culture that delivers results while cultivating strong business relationships with our borrowers.

As Brad Schafer, our Loan Officer states, “We put people first.”

By viewing our borrowers as partners, we are able to take on a perspective that allows us to fully understand the borrower’s problems and needs. This leads to crafting the most suitable and solutions-oriented loan package.

The sales team places an emphasis on addressing potential concerns upfront. This allows people like Brad to go over “yellow lights” with borrowing partners on conditional loan approvals.

Taking the time to invest this much effort and care into our loan programs is a key goal to our success. We hope to continue this tradition through 2009 and into the new year.

Foundation: Strong Underwriting

Fairway’s success and its current standing as a leading specialty finance and investment firm in the Northwest comes from having firm core values in regards to underwriting.

Our process involves rigorous property underwriting guidelines including: a moderate LTV of 57%, utilization of our own in-house property appraisal capabilities, and a broad network of data point providers. Combined with an expansive experience with collections and liquidation as well as a unique understanding of small business operations, we can make decisions that benefit everyone involved in a deal.

“The foundation of our underwriting process is making sure that we’re well-secured on the properties.” – Angie Henderson Rapp, Senior Underwriter
