Job Description
Chief Financial Officer/Director of Finance
HELP ME TAKE FAIRWAY AMERICA TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
"As the President of Fairway America, I am looking for a talented and successful Corporate Business Development Executive to secure retail and institutional investment capital as well as lead our finance, accounting and investor relations functions. Working side by side with myself and the VP of Sales and Marketing this critical position will have full accountability for ensuring we have adequate investor dollars to fund our loan programs and will provide key insight for company wide strategic planning and initiatives. We need a strong leader to strategize, coordinate, and execute the raising of investor capital as well as oversee all of our financial operations."
Matt Burk, President
The Position
This is a sales, negotiation, persuasion and relationship oriented position rather than a more traditional pure accounting role. At Fairway America, the role of CFO/Director of Finance has 3 primary components consisting of: 1) Accountability for the procurement of investment capital that we use to fund our loans (70%), 2) Managing and leading the entire finance side of the business (20%) and 3) Ensuring the preparation of timely, accurate and useful financial reporting, audits, tax preparation, etc (10%). The position requires the ability to raise significant amounts of capital (or ensure that it is raised) by dealing with investors (institutional and individual), bankers, and other sources of money. It also requires leadership of a critical department which includes investment, finance and accounting. This position is one of the 3 senior executive level positions in the company at this time (along with President/CEO and VP of Sales and Marketing) and a commensurate level of talent, skill and drive are expected.
For the A-player looking for something special and who can answer "yes" to all of the following questions, this is the opportunity for you.
- Do you welcome the pressure and responsibility of being in charge of a vital department of a company?
- Do you command the respect, loyalty and commitment for those you lead through moral authority rather than formal authority?
- Are you able to lead and persuade others?
- Do you have a top sales person's mentality and ability and yet a finance mind?
- Do you enjoy working, meeting, and dealing extensively with sophisticated investors and bankers?
- Are you seeking meaning and purpose and looking to make a real difference in your career?
- Do you hate office politics as much as we do?
- Are you seeking an atmosphere of open and direct communication, clear and mutually established priorities and expectations, and a culture of accountability?
- Are you professional and results driven?
- Do you exceed people’s expectations of you on a regular basis?
- Do you have a passion for doing a job well for it’s own sake?
- Do you like the results of your work and your team being glaringly obvious to everyone in the company?
- Understand complex financing vehicles and mechanisms and enjoy every minute of it?
If you answered "yes" to these questions, we want to meet you!
