Fairway Cycles Oregon 2007
DAY FIVE

Day Five ride was amazing. Through green forest on a winding road and then up to a double summit at 4700 and 4800 feet. Only two more days :-(
Yesterday morning we were approached by a fellow biker who had his therapy dog, Kato, with him. Kato needed a ride to the next camp, so in to the RV he went!
Today we are riding to Rainbow on the Aufderheide Memorial Drive. 65 miles today.

DAY FOUR

We did the Century Option of the ride today for 100 miles. From Diamond Lake to Dorena Lake - called the "40-mile Descent." We started with a big downhill early in the morning, and then a long climb for about 17 miles. Then a huge downhill. There were 4 crashes on the downhill and the route was actually closed for about an hour as a result.
We are both feeling great. The bulk of the ride is over. We have 320-plus miles under our belt with about 180 left to go.
Forward!

DAY THREE

Crater Lake was AWESOME! It was the perfect reward for the ride yesterday.
This morning is clear and cold. Our ride starts with a long descent today, so we are bundling up to start. It will warm up as we ride.
Going for 100 miles today!

DAY TWO

Ride for Day Two was mostly flat, although the last 15 miles was a climb. We rode a total of 93 miles for the day.
The weather has been really nice, and we are still feeling good. The views are spectacular and our campsite was great. We camped at Diamond Lake, and we will be here for one more night.
Getting ready for the Crater Lake ride for Day 3. Onward!

DAY ONE

Day One, we arrived in Sisters with no problems. There's no doubt this is going to be a great ride. We love camping. Day One had had some beautiful views of Sisters and Mt. Bachelor. It was a flat 65 miles.
Today we are riding from Lapine to Diamond Lake and looking forward to the 100-mile ride.
Ride on!

Training Casualty

Training over the weekend ended in an unfortunate crash for Matt R. He came away relatively uninjured, but his bike has suffered major damage. Fortunately, the great guys at River City Bicycles are putting it back together. Should be good as new by Friday.
